What to expect during your home remodel.

A step-by-step look at how we plan, communicate, and manage your project.

Clarity Makes Remodeling Easier

Remodeling your home is a major investment of time and money. For many homeowners, the most stressful part is not knowing what to expect.

Questions about cost, timelines, communication, and daily disruption can make the process feel overwhelming before the work even begins.

That’s why we’ve put together this 6-step guide to walk you through each phase of the remodeling process, so you know what to expect, what comes next, and how we work to keep your project organized and running smoothly.

Step 1

Free Consultation

Our remodeling process begins with a no-pressure free phone consultation where we learn more about your project, goals, and vision for the space. We’ll also discuss your budget and a general timeline.

This is also a chance for you to ask questions and learn more about how we work, so you can feel informed and comfortable moving forward with your project.

By the end of the consultation, we’ll have a solid understanding of your project and the next steps.

Step 2

In-Home Walkthrough

After the phone consultation, we’ll schedule an in-home walkthrough to see the space in person and learn more about your project.

We’ll discuss your goals and vision in more detail, take measurements, review material ideas, and better understand how you use the space day to day.

We’ll also answer questions, offer professional recommendations, and discuss project details such as layout changes, permits, or potential challenges.

By the end of the walkthrough, we’ll have the information needed to begin putting together your quote.

Step 3

Detailed Quote & Project Proposal

Once we’ve gathered the information needed during the walkthrough, we’ll put together a detailed project proposal for your remodel.

Your quote will include the scope of work, project details, material information, and estimated costs so you have a clear understanding of the project before any work begins.

After reviewing the proposal, we can discuss any questions or revisions needed to make sure everything feels right before moving forward.

Once approved, we’ll finalize the paperwork, project schedule, and next steps to prepare for construction.

Step 4

Project Preparation

Before construction begins, we’ll meet for a final walkthrough to review the project in more detail and make sure everything is ready for the remodel.

We’ll take any final measurements, confirm materials and specifications, review the scope of work, and answer any remaining questions.

We’ll also finalize paperwork, collect the first payment draw, discuss the project schedule, and prepare the home for construction. If needed, we can install a lockbox for easier access during the project.

Step 5

Construction

Once planning and preparation are complete, construction begins. Throughout this phase, we focus on communication, organization, cleanliness, and quality workmanship to help keep the project running smoothly.

Construction is divided into three stages:

Stage 1

Preparation& Demolition

Before work begins, we take steps to protect your home and prepare the work area. This may include floor protection, plastic barriers, dust control, and general jobsite preparation.

Once the space is protected, existing materials and fixtures are removed to prepare for the remodel. Depending on the scope of work, this stage can involve noise, dust, and temporary utility interruptions.

Stage 2

Structural & Mechanical Work

After demolition, we complete the structural, plumbing, and electrical work needed for the remodel. This includes layout changes, utility updates, and preparation for new fixtures and finishes.

Once rough work and inspections are completed, we move into insulation, drywall, texture, and paint to begin closing up and finishing the space.

Stage 3

Finishes & Completion

Flooring, cabinets, countertops, tile, and other major finish materials are installed during this stage.

The final details come together with trim, lighting, plumbing fixtures, hardware, glass, and other finish installations.

As construction wraps up, we complete a thorough cleanup of the work area and prepare the project for the final walkthrough.

Step 6

Final Walkthrough & Project Completion

Once construction is complete, we’ll walk through the finished project with you to review the work, answer any final questions, and make sure everything meets expectations.

We’ll go over the completed remodel, discuss any final details or touch-ups if needed, and ensure the space is clean and ready to enjoy.
